Convaid’s Business Development Representative, Donald Jones, has been running power soccer clinics at MDA camps in his area over the past 18-years. Although Don works out of the San Francisco Bay Area, where these soccer clinics are held, he is in charge of providing business development services throughout the Northwestern United States.
This past weekend, Don pitched in for a clinic camp in Groveland, near Fresno, California, because the existing coach couldn’t make it. When Don arrived, there were only six campers in power chairs and out of those six, only four wanted to play. Don was able to share the history of power soccer with the group and teach them basics of the game. The four participating campers turned out to be highly-skilled athletes and picked-up the game quickly, playing a modified game with fan involvement.
Now, many of the camp participants are currently playing on teams in their respective communities.
As a result of his diligence and many years coaching power soccer, Don was approached by the Los Angeles area MDA director to expand his participation by spearheading a camp in Los Angeles this July.
Don said, “I have been involved in wheelchair sports for many years and I am very grateful for Convaid allowing me tp be able to speed the word of power soccer to those in need.”
