Convaid and Pediatric Therapy Network held a party with a purpose last Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the PTN campus in Old Torrance where children from the greater Los Angeles area convened for a day of carnival games, a children’s film festival, fun food and face painting while adults learned more about options for pediatric mobility and PTN services. Joining local families were Torrance Mayor Patrick J. Furey, Torrance Councilman Geoff Rizzo and teams from both Convaid and PTN.
The event was covered by local media and Convaid roving reporters Trudy and Winston Watkins, grandchildren of founders Merv and Rachel Watkins, whose survey of the children in attendance brought to light certain additions to be considered for next year’s event including: a water slide, a bouncer, a rollercoaster, for kids films to be shown outside and ice cream.
